Sasabe Shintaro involved in many projects of the planting of cherry blossom trees in his lifetime including Japan Mint, Osaka Castle Park, and Koshimizu Water Purification Plant in Nishinomiya. Those places are known as famous cherry blossom viewing spots to this day. Sasabe also helped to transplant the 450-year-old Shogawa-zakura cherry blossom tree in Gifu Prefecture. This exhibition highlights the main projects of the planting or transplanting of cherry blossom trees Sasabe had involved in, based on his handwritten records.

Sakurako-chan is a fairy of Sasabe-zakura cherry blossom tree studying about Mr. Sasabe who had tended her.
The more we learn about Mr. Sasabe, the more we like him! As we learn more about sakura, our appreciation
for these beautiful tree grows!
